How it started
John
Romero has been a professional musician now since 1979 and semi-pro for several
years before that. He has been playing accordion since the age of nine and back
in the mid 1970’s, having won the British Accordion Championships, moved from
classical accordion to electronic. This inevitably lead to an interest in
keyboards. Over the past years, John worked through the Technics KN range of
keyboards and during this time, Gareth Lewis at the Technics U.K. user group
heard about John’s use of the keyboards and invited him to write articles for
his magazine. Through this, several members of the user group heard that John
wrote style patterns for his own gigs and urged him to release a commercial
disk, and so the Mega Style Disk was born.
The release of
one disk has lead to a thriving business with well over a hundred disks in
various versions for various brands of keyboard, organs and expanders. These
disks and a host of essential music accessories has led to customers in over two
dozen countries around the world. We are now a main dealer for Ketron
Instruments and have a number of other products available for our customers.
Since our move
to Eastbourne in 1999 the new studio has been built, the web site has been
upgraded to many times to count, Reg Siger has released several new disks
available only through us and we continue to expand our software ranges with our
association with Dave Medcalf. Eastbourne Music Festivals has been very
successful and is expanding the Carillon Studios family. To you our customers we
would just like to say one word...............THANKS!
